How to Get Started with ApnCloud Email Hosting

ApnCloud Email Hosting allows you to use professional email addresses with your own domain name, such as [email protected], [email protected], or [email protected].

This guide explains the basic steps to start using your ApnCloud Email Hosting service.

1. Check Your Email Hosting Activation Details

After your Email Hosting service is activated, check your registered email address and ApnCloud Client Area for the service information.

Your activation details may include:

  • Email hosting login information
  • Mail server details
  • Webmail access information
  • DNS or MX record information
  • Other required setup details

Keep your login information secure and do not share your email account passwords with unauthorized persons.

2. Log In to the ApnCloud Client Area

Sign in to your ApnCloud Client Area using your registered email address and password.

Open your active Email Hosting service to view the available service details, billing information, renewal date, and management options.

3. Add Your Domain

Your domain must be connected to the Email Hosting service before you can fully use domain-based email addresses.

Depending on your service configuration, you may need to add or verify your domain in the email hosting management interface.

Make sure the domain name is entered correctly.

4. Configure the Required DNS Records

For your email service to send and receive messages correctly, your domain must use the correct DNS records.

These may include:

  • MX records
  • SPF records
  • DKIM records
  • DMARC records
  • Other service-specific records

Use the exact DNS values provided with your ApnCloud Email Hosting service.

Do not copy DNS records from another provider unless they are specifically required for your current setup.

5. Create Your Email Accounts

After your domain is configured, create the email addresses you need.

Examples include:

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

Use a strong and unique password for every mailbox.

6. Access Your Email Through Webmail

If webmail access is available with your Email Hosting service, you can use it to send and receive email directly from a web browser.

Log in using your full email address and mailbox password.

For example:

Email: [email protected]
Password: Your mailbox password

7. Configure Email on Your Devices

You can also connect your mailbox to compatible email applications using the IMAP and SMTP settings provided with your service.

You may configure your email on:

  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Mozilla Thunderbird
  • Apple Mail
  • Android email applications
  • iPhone or iPad Mail
  • Other compatible email clients

Always use the exact mail server hostname, port, encryption, username, and password provided for your Email Hosting account.

8. Wait for DNS Propagation

After updating your domain's DNS records, email service may not begin working immediately.

DNS changes can take some time to propagate across different networks and DNS resolvers.

During this period, email delivery may be inconsistent until the new DNS records are fully recognized.

9. Test Sending and Receiving Email

After completing the setup, test your mailbox.

Check that:

  • You can log in successfully
  • You can send email
  • You can receive email
  • Messages are not unexpectedly going to spam
  • Your domain DNS records are correct
  • Your email application connects successfully

10. Keep Your Email Account Secure

Email accounts often contain important business and personal information, so security is important.

  • Use a strong and unique password
  • Do not share mailbox passwords
  • Avoid suspicious links and attachments
  • Keep your devices and email applications updated
  • Change your password immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
  • Do not use your email account for spam or abusive messaging

Common Setup Problems

If your email service is not working correctly, check:

  • Your domain is using the correct MX records
  • SPF and DKIM records are configured correctly
  • Your email address and password are correct
  • Your IMAP and SMTP settings are correct
  • DNS propagation has completed
  • Your mailbox has available storage
