How to Create a Hosting Package in DirectAdmin
A hosting package defines the resources and features that will be assigned to customer hosting accounts under your ApnCloud Reseller Hosting service.
Creating packages first makes it easier to manage multiple hosting accounts with consistent limits and settings.
1. Log In to DirectAdmin
Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel using your ApnCloud Reseller Hosting credentials.
Make sure you are using the Reseller Level interface.
2. Open Manage User Packages
From the DirectAdmin Reseller dashboard, locate the package management section.
Look for an option such as:
- Manage User Packages
- User Packages
- Hosting Packages
The exact wording may vary depending on your DirectAdmin interface version.
3. Click Add Package
Click the option to create or add a new hosting package.
You will see a list of available resource limits and hosting features.
4. Choose a Package Name
Enter a clear name for the package.
For example:
Starter
Business
Professional
Choose package names that make it easy to identify the resources assigned to each customer plan.
5. Set Disk Space
Enter the amount of disk space you want to allocate to accounts using this package.
Make sure the total disk space assigned across your customer accounts stays within the limits of your ApnCloud Reseller Hosting plan.
6. Set Bandwidth
Configure the bandwidth limit for the package according to your intended hosting plan.
Review your overall reseller resources before assigning high limits to multiple accounts.
7. Configure Hosting Limits
Depending on the DirectAdmin configuration, you may be able to set limits for:
- Domains
- Subdomains
- Email accounts
- MySQL databases
- FTP accounts
- Domain pointers
- Other available resources
Set each limit according to the hosting plan you want to provide to your customers.
8. Review Available Features
DirectAdmin may also allow you to enable or disable certain hosting features for the package.
Only enable features that are available under your reseller account and appropriate for the customer plan.
9. Save the Hosting Package
Review all package settings carefully.
When everything is correct, click Save, Create, or the available confirmation button.
The new package should then appear in your hosting package list.
10. Use the Package When Creating Accounts
After creating the package, you can select it when creating a new customer hosting account.
This allows DirectAdmin to automatically apply the predefined resource limits and features to that account.
Important Resource Management Tips
- Do not allocate more resources than your reseller plan can reasonably support
- Create different packages for different customer requirements
- Review customer usage regularly
- Update package limits carefully
- Keep package names clear and easy to understand
