How to Create a New Hosting Account in DirectAdmin
After creating a hosting package, you can create individual customer hosting accounts from the DirectAdmin Reseller Panel. Each account can have its own domain, username, password, email address, and resource limits.
Follow the steps below to create a new hosting account under your ApnCloud Reseller Hosting service.
1. Log In to DirectAdmin
Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel using your ApnCloud Reseller Hosting credentials.
Make sure you are using the Reseller Level interface.
2. Open the User Management Section
From the DirectAdmin Reseller dashboard, look for the section used to create and manage customer accounts.
The option may appear as:
- Add New User
- Create User
- Manage Users
The exact wording may vary depending on your DirectAdmin interface version.
3. Enter the Customer Domain
Enter the primary domain name that will be associated with the new hosting account.
For example:
example.com
Enter the domain without http:// or https://.
4. Create a Username
Enter a unique username for the hosting account.
The username will be used for DirectAdmin access and may also be used for certain server-level account functions.
Choose a username that is easy to identify but not unnecessarily predictable.
5. Create a Strong Password
Create a strong and unique password for the new customer account.
A strong password should contain a combination of:
- Uppercase letters
- Lowercase letters
- Numbers
- Special characters
Do not reuse the same password across multiple customer accounts.
6. Enter the Customer Email Address
Enter a valid email address for the customer or account owner.
This email address may be used for account-related notifications or password recovery, depending on the available DirectAdmin configuration.
7. Select a Hosting Package
Choose one of the hosting packages you created earlier.
The selected package will define the available resources and limits for the new hosting account.
These may include:
- Disk space
- Bandwidth
- Domains
- Email accounts
- Databases
- FTP accounts
- Other available hosting features
8. Review the Account Details
Before creating the account, review all information carefully.
Confirm that:
- The domain name is correct
- The username is correct
- The customer email address is correct
- The appropriate hosting package is selected
- The password is strong and secure
9. Create the Hosting Account
Click Create, Submit, or the available confirmation button.
DirectAdmin will create the new hosting account using the selected package and settings.
After the account is created successfully, it should appear in your reseller user list.
10. Provide Login Information Securely
If the hosting account belongs to a customer, provide the required login information through a secure method.
The customer may need:
- DirectAdmin login URL
- Username
- Password
- Nameserver information
- Other relevant hosting details
Do not send sensitive passwords through public or unsecured channels.
11. Point the Customer Domain
The customer domain must point to the appropriate hosting server before the website can load correctly.
This normally requires updating the domain nameservers or DNS records.
DNS changes may take some time to propagate across the internet.
12. Manage the Account Later
After creating the account, you can return to the DirectAdmin Reseller Panel to manage it.
Depending on the available options, you may be able to:
- Change the hosting package
- Modify resource limits
- Reset the account password
- Suspend or unsuspend the account
- Review resource usage
- Manage other account settings
Important Account Management Tips
- Use a unique password for every customer account
- Assign an appropriate hosting package
- Monitor disk and bandwidth usage
- Keep customer contact information updated
- Do not oversell resources beyond what your reseller plan can support
- Keep customer login credentials private
